Region Game Takes Place On: South Island.

Concept Introductions: Not a whole lot of innovations in this game. You have the spring powerup, which I do not believe was in any game before this one. Also, Sonic enters the special stages by collecting 100 rings. Then there is the probably best introduction to the speed counter at the end of the stage. The only other game that I think has this is Sonic Labyrinth. What I mean by a speed counter is that depending on the amount of time it takes you to finish the board and the "length" of the board, the game calculates the speed in kilometers per hour that it took you to finish it. If you do it fast enough, it is possible to finish with an average speed of 999 km/hr. Also, the rocket shoes make their appearance. Yay for moving across the board quite quickly!

Concept Deductions:
If you've read above, you enter the special stage if SONIC gets 100 rings. It is impossible for Tails enter a special stage at all, which is a huge downer. It's like they replaced the special stage with flight, because Sonic's peel out is basically useless. I dunno if that is a really fair trade.

Storyline(s):
...Yet another storyline that involves the Chaos Emeralds. This time, Robotnik has gotten them all and sent all but the red one into other dimensions. If Sonic and Tails don't get the Chaos Emeralds back from the other dimensions and get the red one back from Eggman, or else the island drops into the ocean as a result of the flux in the dimensions between the emeralds. Go Sonic!

Personal Criticism/Opinion:

          A very base Sonic game. I don't know what else to say besides that. Some of the boards are interesting, but nothing is really out of the ordinary. In the end though, this is really just a basic game.

Let's see some GAMER'S PERSPECTIVE:

Replay value? Good. As a fast moving Sonic game, this has the replay value of a...well, basic Sonic game

Graphics and Layout? The sprites remind me a lot of the Sonic CD sprites, but that could be just me. The boards are pretty decent for an 8-bit game, but then again, I don't think any of the Sonic games really suffered SO much more than the others from the lower bitrate.

Music & Sound Effects? The music is Sonic music. This is really, in all respects, a Sonic game.

Storyline? Have you been catching the flow of what this game is? The storyline is a basic Sonic storyline.

OVERALL RATING? I rate Sonic Chaos a 6.5/10
